An elected group of volunteers runs RMMHA to ensure the activities and operations of the Association move forward as smoothly as possible. In order to achieve this, the membership must also contribute their time and efforts for each season to be successful.

Volunteering Policy Summary

RMMHA VOLUNTEER POLICY – QUICK REFERENCE

 

Minimum Required Volunteer Hours: 

• Association Level:

-4 hours per family or $300 buyout option during registration 

•   Team Level:

-4 Hours per player for U9 athletes and up

-2 Hours per player for U7 athletes and below

•     At least 2 hours must be scorekeeping/timekeeping for association or team games

Tracking Your Hours

• Association Hours: Tracked with SignUp
• Team Hours: Tracked with TeamSnap
• You are responsible for logging your own hours
• Hours not logged in the system will not count without Volunteer Coordinator approval

 

Buyout and Deposits

• $300 buyout during registration to opt out of association hours or
• $300 deposit submitted to your team manager after team formation if you have not chosen buy out option
• Families cannot opt out of team level volunteering

Penalties

• Failure to pay buyout during registration or hand in deposit cheque: Non-refundable, deposit equivalent will be invoiced via TeamSnap and athletes(s) will be held off the ice until paid

• Missed Association Hours: $300 deposit is forfeited

• Missed Team Hours: Consequences set by your team (eligibility freezes, fines, etc.)

• To run the volunteer program and support association events
