Welcome to RMMHA Development

The goal of RMMHA Development is to get the players on the ice as much as possible, working on their individual skills, all the while making sure that the kids are having fun.

The program endeavours to provide depth of talent and skill with the following goals in mind:

  • Learning how to mesh physical skills with sport skills.
  • Learning skills that cross over into other sports, developing a better athlete.
  • Ensuring that practice activities reinforce the development of agility, speed, balance and coordination.
  • Training that is organized, positive and above all, fun.
  • Sessions that are monitored and drills that display proper progressions.

Development sessions are usually held on the weekend.  The sessions will begin with basic power skating and then athletes will move to skill stations where they can work on hockey fundamentals. Sessions will also include scrimmaging in small groups to ensure the kids get plenty of puck touches while applying some of the skills they have learned. We will always encourage creativity and team play.

Depending on available ice times, we try to add some early morning options throughout the year to maximize the development available as well as ProD day development sessions.
