The Opportunity: 

Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey (RMMHA) is in need of a full-time Administrative Assistant. This  position provides varied and moderately complex administrative work providing support to the Board  of Directors and the General Manager.  

This will be a work from home position 6 hours/day Monday to Friday with an expectation to be at  one of 2 rinks 2 Saturdays for 3 hours twice a month once feasible. 

Functional Competencies: 

  • Outstanding ability to work effectively and independently  
  • Previous experience as an administrative assistant or similar position  
  • Detail oriented with strong bookkeeping and data entry skills  
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.) Google applications.  Experience working with QuickBooks  
  • Experience working with Teamsnap 
  • Experience working with Hockey Canada Registry 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, maintaining professionalism when faced  with challenging and stressful situations and/or people  
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal and  external contacts as well as the public  
  • Knowledge of minor hockey including rules and regulations of PCAHA, BC Hockey and  Hockey Canada  
  • Experience maintaining payroll  
  • Must be able to respond to correspondence, emails and phone calls in a time sensitive  manner  

What You Will Do 

  • Liaise between RMMHA, the Cities, PCAHA, and BC Hockey, when required, to facilitate  registration and other administrative tasks  
  • Maintain the Hockey Canada Registry system for RMMHA  
  • Complete all Registration tasks in Teamsnap, including registration setup, scheduling and  invoicing
  • Maintain the day-to-day bookkeeping of RMMHA including Accounts Payable, Accounts  Receivable, payroll and bank deposits 
  • Pick up any email, scan and distribute to relevant parties 
  • Maintain RMMHA website with updates concerning registration and other information.  Assist in the implementation and organization of public events such as photo day,  fundraisers  
  • Maintain Tracking Certifications for all Board Members, Significant Volunteers and Staff. Set up and maintaining EPACT 
  • Preparation of Game Grants, Audit Preparation, Electronic Filling, Tournament Applications Administrative Tournament Support 
  • A & C Evaluation Admin Support 
  • Prepare correspondence as required  
  • Maintain filing systems as necessary  
  • Support internal communications and volunteer projects as required  
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors
